Dear Advocate:
Urgent! In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, please contact Governor Martin O'Malley now!
Later this month, Governor O'Malley will be sitting down with his financial advisors to determine how to reduce state spending in the current (FY 2009) budget. One of the many areas in the State Department of Health and Mental Hygiene to be considered for budget cuts is the Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening, Diagnosis and Treatment Programs that provide life-saving medical care for low-income medically underserved women living in Maryland. A reduction in funding for these programs means putting at risk the health and lives of the most vulnerable women in our state.
TAKE ACTION NOW! Please call Governor O'Malley now and tell him: "Don't reduce FY 2009 state funding for the breast and cervical cancer screening, diagnosis and treatment programs".
