ACS CAN is Pleased to Announce our New Online Tributes Program!

Honoring a friend or loved one is a lasting way to celebrate those who have battled cancer, while creating a legacy of hope for those who continue to fight this terrible disease. The new online Tributes Program gives you the power to commemorate the life of a loved one while making a contribution to the fight against cancer.

What is the Tributes Program?

The Tributes Program is a new and important part of ACS CAN’s mission to make defeating cancer a legislative priority. By donating money in honor of/in memory of a loved one, your generous donation will commemorate your loved one’s courageous life, while also providing the much needed funds to help ACS CAN raise awareness, print voter guides, and hold lawmakers accountable for their stands on cancer related issues.

How does it work?

When you make an online donation to ACS CAN you will be given the option of donating in honor of or in memory of a loved one, ensuring that they will never be forgotten and that their battle against cancer was not in vain. Their name will then be added to the ACS CAN Tributes Scroll on this page, reminding all those who visit our website of the many lives that have been touched by cancer, and of the work that still needs to be done to defeat this disease.

When you make an online donation to honor or memorialize someone, you can share the news of this special gift by sending an unlimited number of e-cards to friends and family. Or, send a hard-copy letter acknowledgement of your contribution to the loved ones of your honoree. Then they too will be empowered to honor your loved one and learn how to become a part of the fight against cancer.

How do I make an online donation in Honor of/in Memory of a loved one?

It’s easy! To make a memorial or honorary gift online, just visit us at www.acscan.org/tributegift, enter your personal information and be sure the “is this an honor or memorial gift?” box is checked. Once that box is checked, fill in the information on whom you are honoring and send an e-card or acknowledgement letter to your friends and family to let them know what you have done! Want to do even more?

Would you like to have your friends and family donate in honor of /in memory of your loved one as well? If so, visit www.acscan.org/icanpages to create your own personal tributes page in honor of/in memory of a loved one.

On your own personal tributes page you can post pictures, tell the story of your loved one’s battle with cancer, invite your friends and family to donate to ACS CAN, or post messages to your wall. These personal tributes pages are a great way to raise even more awareness about the fight against cancer and create an e-space of remembrance for your friends and family.
